Thomson Higher Education Acquires Atomic Dog Publishing
 

Stamford, CT, April 4th, 2006 –Thomson Higher Education, a part of The Thomson Corporation (TSX: TOC; NYSE: TOC), announced today that it has acquired certain assets of Atomic Dog Publishing, a privately held publishing operation that provides low-cost hybrid learning solutions, in print and online formats. Atomic Dog Publishing will become part of Thomson Custom Solutions (TCS), a Thomson Higher Education business unit which provides print, digital and hybrid solutions to faculty and students across all disciplines. TCS will maintain and expand the Atomic Dog imprint.

Atomic Dog provides a strong complement to existing Thomson Higher Education assets, skill sets, technology expertise and strategic direction. Its reputation as a progressive, student-centric provider of value-priced digital and print materials will further strengthen Thomson Custom Solutions with enhanced breadth of content, a larger customer base, production efficiencies and proven eCommerce experience. In turn, Thomson Higher Education will bring new capabilities to Atomic Dog’s operations, including increased global reach, new customization options, improved backend operational efficiencies, and dramatically expanded sales and distribution capabilities, both domestically and internationally.

Further terms of the agreement have not been disclosed.
